Addressing our public health challenges
Kentucky ranks among the states with the worst health indicators, with high rates of cancer, obesity and death due to heart disease and stroke.
More than half of the state is medically underserved, especially in poverty-stricken areas where there is a shortage of doctors. To compound the problem, Kentucky will have a shortage of 3,000 doctors in less than 10 years, according to an estimate by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
These problems are too great for any single organization to solve. KentuckyOne Health has the resources and reach to address our greatest health challenges.
Our vision is to be the premier, integrated, comprehensive health system in the Commonwealth providing high-quality care close to home—reducing the incidence of disease and eliminating inequities in access.
