Saint Joseph Health System

The legacy of Saint Joseph Health System (SJHS) began more than 130 years ago with the hospitals established by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati and by the individual communities. It joined Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the largest health care delivery systems in the nation, in 1997.

With its nine facilities (Saint Joseph Berea, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph Jessamine, Saint Joseph London, Saint Joseph Martin, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, Flaget Memorial Hospital and The Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East), the Saint Joseph facilities make up central Kentucky’s largest health care provider. Together their member facilities have been recognized 20 times as being among the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation by Thomson Reuters.
